Solano County Sheriff’s Office:

A Legacy of Service Since 1850

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office has proudly served our community since its inception in 1850, when Solano County became one of California’s original 27 counties at the time of statehood. From our very first election on April 1st, 1850, where Sheriff Francis Drake Brown was elected with 88 out of 176 votes, to today, we have dedicated ourselves to the safety and well-being of our residents.

With a history spanning 174 years, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office has seen 27 dedicated Sheriffs lead our department, each contributing to the legacy of excellence and commitment to public service. Our values and mission reflect our ongoing dedication to serving the community with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
